General MIDI Sequences on OAX – Part1

The recent MIDI topic stirred up a little conversation so let’s take a look at where those GM sounds are located in OAX, should you ever want to use them, along with a GM format sequence that selects those sounds. Although the same tune is playing in the video I’ve added it here so you can take a closer listen to it.

In part 2 of this series we will go over the steps in a little more detail showing you how to change the instrumentation used and save those changes for future use. What you hear at this point is how the sequence sounds using the instruments and volume levels as they were set in the GM file itself.
