Share Your Studio!

OK, so our Sonic sits in what is really supposed to be the “Dining Area”… We call it our Studio. It doesn’t matter what you call it or which Wersi instrument(s) you own. Send us some pictures of your setup. We will add it to our growing collection of owner “Studios” for all to enjoy.  🙂

i am looking to add the most realistic sounds to my instrument. is something like Komplete 11 the way to
go or is Kontakt 5 adequate. Have never used a VST so I’m looking to get started in the right direction.
Is Komplete 11 a bunch of VST’s in a package or is it one large VST? Any help would be appreciated.
Currently a Scala owner and in the near future a Sonic owner.

    Thanks!!!

      Hi Jim,

      Thanks for joining us!

I’ll tell you what I know and let’s see if any other folks can comment with their thoughts. I do have KonKat up and running BUT I have it installed on an external PC. I have not attempted to install it directly on OAX, although it should work. Maybe I should take a run at that, do a video and report back to all – Comments from anyone following along?? Would folks like to see that?

I’ve looked at Komplete many times, admired it and while I would like to have it, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t really use all of the components that are included. And I have no clue how well it will / won’t work if installed directly on OAX vs. an external PC.

Are you thinking about running as a VST on OAX or on an external PC?

with my limited knowledge, I plan on loading on my PC until I learn how to “properly” use it. After that, would like to run as VST on OAX. Not sure if an external ssd would work better. At this point looking for as much advise as I can get. Thank you so much Curt and Bill for your input.

Thanks Jim – We are glad to help. We are just another Wersi owner (OAX) in our case. We have owned a number of Wersi instruments over the years and have loved everyone of them.

Really the whole point of the website and the handful of videos we have done so far – Just to get all of “us” together, share and help each other out as we all continue to learn about “all things Wersi”.

Maybe I should take a stab at installing Konkat on OAX to see what we all can learn from that?

          As for your SSD comment:

It’s really all about how much storage do you have? The amount of free space on OAS or OAX is what it is. To help with that you can add an internal drive or go with an external USB device. I’m not there yet but on the list of things to do as my “piggy bank” allows! 🙂

Look forward to working with you in the future!

does anyone know if i would need any other equipment to run Komplete11 through the sonic or as an additional hard drive or is it a stand alone product?

      Hi Jim

Kontakt 5 will give you virtually any sound you want, plus you can load in 3rd party sounds, however, Komplete has multiple Instrument VSTs and Effects to get your teeth into, (All of which will work on the Sonic) however, due to the number of sounds in there (You don’t have to load all of them in) you may wish to add an External USB3 HDD (Or SSD) to give you even more capacity. (Just go for the standard version as the Ultimate version will be way over the top for your needs)

NOTE: It will be a little bit unfamiliar at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will probably need a big alarm clock to remind you to eat and sleep.

NOTE 2: Don’t try and load on OAS, as XP is not supported.

      Have fun

      Bill

I think that it is great how you are promoting Wersi! I just wished that Wersi in Germany would do more to expose every American about Wersi products. I have been pleased with many of my Wersi instruments, giving me as a professional keyboard musician what I need on stage when playing with bands and the orchestrated background styles has helped me write my songs.

Thank you for allowing my photos to be shared with others. I think you are doing great by promoting Wersi and offering suggestions, advise on operating procedures of the Wersi Sonic. Your web site is so wonderful, I just wished that Wersi from Germany would do much more to promote Wersi like they did 20 years ago when they owned the location in Lancaster, PA. I too love promoting the Wersi Pegasus Wing Professional, along with my web site. I hope to one day become an authorized Wersi dealer, along with Lowrey Virtual Orchestra, and especially the Lowrey EZ-P7 digital piano, as it is my dream to own a music store.
