Wersi OAX Access to ALL Ketron Banks

This video came out a little too long but if you are interested in seeing how to access all the various banks in a Ketron SDxx unit plus access to Ketron registrations from OAX, hang in until the end. Heck, even if you aren’t interested in seeing that, hang in until the end!

It’s mentioned in the video but for reference:

Bank Information (Ketron SDxx Series):

0, 1, 10, 11, 72, 73 – GM Sounds via MIDI In1
0, 1, 2 – Voice Presets – via MIDI In2
30-39 – User Voices
40-49 – Factory Styles
50-59 – User Styles

    Hi Curt
I figured out a way to use the Ketron “Voice to ABCD” and “Voice & Variations” to work on upper and lower Wersi keyboards on the OAX800.
    (Upper Manual 1) std MIDI Ext2 Channel 1, 1-Out2, Ch 1
    (Lower Manual 1) std MIDI Ext2 Channel 1, 1-Out2, Ch. 2, MSB 40
This allows me to select a Ketron style with 4 leads that change on upper keyboard with Ketron style variations. I then can add Wersi voices on the upper keyboard to switch between the Ketron lead voices on Wersi preset 1 with the Wersi presets 2, 3 &4. This gives me 7 voices I can use on the Upper keyboard for a song.
The styles play on lower keyboard. I split the lower keyboard so I can have another Wersi voice on the right half of the lower keyboard.
I like the Wersi bass voices better than Ketron for the pedals.
I save the Ketron setup in Ketron “Registrations”. I then load that into Wersi and save with the added Wersi voices to the “Music Archive”. In the future I can then load everything from the Wersi side.
I have the custom Ketron stand for the Sd40 that I positioned right above the Wersi rhythm buttons on the left side so the Ketron style program variation buttons are easy to reach that also trigger the Ketron lead voice changes.
    I love this setup!
Thanks for all the Wersi And Ketron videos you have posted. I have watched them multiple times and learned a great deal!

      Don,

Looks like you beat me to it. I just sent you an e-mail that I’m moving our Sonic today, and I’d be in touch later this week. Think I’ll try your setup after the move. Maybe we should make a video of the setup for others attempting the same thing.

      Great Job!

I recently purchased a Ketron SD40 to use with my Wersi OAX800. I need advice on how to do the proper setup so that Lead Voices assigned to Style Variations A, B, C & D work using the “Voice & Vari” and “Voice to ABCD” buttons. I want the Ketron to automatically change the Lead Voices on the Upper Keyboard and the Style Voices on the Lower Keyboard as I select Style Variations A, B, C & D.
I currently have the following setup –
    PLAY MODE: Accordian Style
MIDI MODE: Accordian Style & Voice
MIDI PORT IN 1: Midi Play
    MIDI PORT IN 2: Keyboard
ARRANGER KEYBOARD: Right 1, Left 2, Global Off
WERSI MIDI EXT CH 1: 0-Out 1 (upper keyboard), Channel 1
WERSI MIDI EXT CH 2: 1-Out 2 (lower keyboard), Channel 2
I can get the Styles to play but not the changing Lead on the Upper Keyboard.
I had this working correctly at one time, however I can’t remember the setup.
Can anyone advise what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks
    Don

      Hey Don,

Stand by until later next week. We are moving our Sonic next Tuesday (06/30) to a new location and will have both the Sonic and a Ketron in the same room (again). That will let me go through your setup and try a couple of things.

    Hi Curt,

This is a very instructive video that explains well how the different blocks are located in the SD90 and what you can do with them.
Perfectly explained, I have benefited a lot and use it.
    Thanks for that.

    Kindley regards,

    Klaas

    Hi Curt,

Is there a backup procedure for the Ketron SD40 and sd90?
